I am a Retired Navy Seabee and currently reside in Riverside California. I have 8 chickens, 1 duck , 5 cats, and 2 dogs, 2 sons, and one daughter with a total of 6...soon to be 7...grandchildren. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and an AA in Architectural Drafting. I enjoy being creative and learning new things, then once I've mastered something, I teach. Now that I'm retired, I have loads of time to create.
I am currently stitching. Traditional and Modern Embroidery as well as Needlepoint. I'm enrolled at the Royal School of Needlework (RSN) in London and an active member of the Inland Empire's Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA). I also am a member of the Why Not Stitching Academy based in Germany and the Serendipity Needleworks Stitcher's Club based Alabama. My goal is to create patterns from my art into fabric and needle art. I would like to eventually become a certified teacher of Needlework through both the RSN and EGA so that I can teach others.
I am inspired by everything around me, especially nature and what it can give. I am making my own dyes, and paints from organic materials and pigments. I believe that anything is a canvas and so long as I have my Go Kit, I can paint on anything, anywhere. Give me paints, wire, beads, felt, fabric, or thread and I can give you art.
